Our Early pregnancy scan is designed to check the wellbeing of your baby and provide you with peace of mind from as early as 6 weeks gestation*, through to 16 weeks. We always aim to provide you with a professional experience, whilst only ever performing your scan by a qualified, experienced, sonographer.

*We are only able to provide scans to persons over the age of 18
*From 6-8 weeks an internal scan maybe required to obtain best image quality. Please see conditions below
* Deposits are non-refundable

- Locate your pregnancy
- See your baby’s heartbeat
- Date your pregnancy – to confirm how far along you are (an internal scan may be offered to you. You have the right to refuse this and stop the scan at any time)
- Confirm single or multiple pregnancy
- A wellbeing check will be performed to review your baby’s progress
- Receive a scan report
- 2 x photo prints to take home

* Cancellation or alteration policy is 48 hours before your scan.
* We may not be able to visualise vitals if you are measuring less than 6 weeks during the scan.
*All our scans are currently performed by female staff.
You must still attend your diagnostic scans with the NHS.

Preparing for your early pregnancy scan
You can prepare for your early pregnancy scan by ensuring that you are properly hydrated in the 24 hours before your appointment. Please arrive well hydrated.
This is a 20 minute appointment, please note that the actual scan length may vary. We require a new consent form for every scan you have with us. We will send you one by email or text to complete before your appointment. If you are unable to complete this online, please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete your paperwork. Please note that if you don’t arrive early to complete your paperwork, this may cut into your appointment and scan time.
Please bring your pregnancy notes with you. We may not need them, but it is helpful if our qualified Sonographers need to refer to them at any stage during your early pregnancy scan.
It is advisable to wear loose fitting clothing.
It is sometimes necessary during the earlier stages of pregnancy to offer an internal scan. This is because it can be difficult to see the fetus via the abdomen at this stage. Many factors influence this (including hydration). Please ensure you arrive for your scan with a full bladder if you are 8-15 weeks. As with all of our scans, you have the right to refuse or stop the procedure at any time.
Sometimes period dates can be different from the actual gestational age, this means we may not be able to locate or visualise the fetus and heartbeat. In this instance a rescan will be advised in 2 weeks time to allow for sufficient growth. It is advisable to book a little later than 6 weeks by your period count.
